Professional Makeup Artist Classes

The artist course offered by N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS is a special course that targets those who are aiming at becoming professional beauty creators (makeup artists). This course takes care of thorough individual education based on the level and background of each student from those without any previous experience to those who are already working as makeup artists. In the beginning, students learn step-by-step details from Natural Makeup to Couture Makeup using their own faces. Then students establish the basics centered on base makeup using models. After that, the course proceeds with technical classes in which students learn techniques depending on real situations. Combined with on-site learning, students are trained in a wide range of professional techniques and back stage details in the industry such as wedding makeup, runway-show makeup, studio shooting, art makeup, and the like. In the 12-month course, the integrated classes unique to N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS such as The Century, which recreates the appearances of actresses who became image symbols in each decade of the 20th-century, special effects makeup in Hollywood, Henna Tatoo (using plant extract) and others, expand the genre of beauty artists.

The Brush Up class is for those who are either currently enrolled or have completed classes at N·Y·B·S. This class will review techniques learned in the courses to give student a clearer understanding of the techniques. Students will gain conficence and make technical progress through these reviews.

Counseling

AKEMI SONE, founder of N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS and Total Beauty Producer, confers with each student privately about the student's background, personality, future dreams and the like. Students can ask her any question about classes, instructors, and anything on their minds.

Basic Class 1 class: 90 minutes

Students first make over themselves learning step-by step details from natural makeup to couture makeup. They will encounter a new existence never imagined before and get closer to their self-confident ideal faces.

Artist Class Basic A 1 class: 90 minutes

This class starts with makeup using the faces of others for the first time. The class proceeds with details and ease even for total beginners. The basics of makeup centered on base makeup are established here.

Artist Class Technical A 1 class: 90 minutes

After understanding the basics, students take this course where they learn various techniques depending on different situations: Professional techniques in the industry such as wedding makeup, runway-show makeup, studio shooting, and art makeup. Then students perform practical shooting (production of works) and create their own portfolios.

Artist Class Basic B 1 class: 90 minutes

This class was created to enhance the base makeup learned in Basic A. Unlike Basic A, this class requires questions and ideas from students and reconfirms the necessity of the basics.

Artist Class Technical B 1 class: 90 minutes

Depending on situations, students add their own concepts and images to the techniques that they leaned in Technical A. Students also coordinate the makeup and hairstyling of models. The instructors evaluate all completed works as test results of practical skills.

Portfolio Production Studio Shooting 1 day

This class was created for all students in the artist course to represent the accumulation of the techniques, sense, and knowledge that they have learned at N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS. Students produce their own works by engaging in on-site interaction with professional models and photograpers. The ability on Hairstyling, dress styling, and total coordination are also utilized to complete original portfolios. Motivated students can strengthen their portfolios in addition to those included in the shooting classes of their courses. This class is included in all makeup classes but it can be taken individually. Also students can add this class as many times as they need.

Hair-Styling Class 1 class: 90 minutes

This class first provides lessons on the process from blocking to arrangement for basic straight hair and wavy hair. Then top hairstylists demonstrate new and hot hairstyles. The models are changed according to situations and subjects such as wedding, studio shooting, and actresses.


Skin Care Class 1 class: 90 minutes

Healthy, youthful, and clear skin is the eternal desire of women in the world. In the skin care class at N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS students learn how to perform at home the skin care techniques that have the same effects as in a day spa. By methods of daily cleansing to weekly full-course treatment your skin becomes revitalized and rejuvenated in a moment of time. The skin care class at N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS is based on cutting-edge knowledge of dermatology in the USA and can attend to every skin type. Four types of deep cleansing that remove old keratin, aroma therapy massage using a blend of tens of herbs and squalene, chemical peels made from AHA (alpha hydroxyl acid), mineral masks made from Dead Sea mud, and "patting" that tightens a face, and so on. This full-course treatment regulates the balance of mind and body, enhances natural healing power, and beautifies body and soul.

Nail Art Class 1 class: 90 minutes

After mastering the basics of nail care, students learn a variety of nail art techniques in practical lessons: Nail art of the newest trends in New York such as French nails, marble, rhinestone and so on.

Artist Class Special A (Kimono)1 class: 120 minutes

Drawing from her experience as a kimono designer in one of her careers in Japan, AKEMI SONE's special techniques are disclosed. She gives practical lessons on kimono as Japanese national costume and fashionable apparel together with methods of changing kimono in a few minutes during a runway show and points in shooting and others.

Artist Class Special B (The Century)1 class: 120 minutes

In this class, actresses who became image symbols in each decade of the 1940's, 50's and 60's in Hollywood history are recreated.

Artist Class Special C (Henna Tatoos)1 class: 120 minutes

The demand for natural (organic) products has been a hot trend in New York for many years. The popularity of Henna has also increased as a result. Henna has been transmitted in the long history of the Middle and Near East and became one of the trendy fashions. The tatoos using 100% natural ingredients of plants are simple and beautiful.

Artist Class Special D (Special Effects Makeup)1 class: 120 minutes

Special effects remind us of Hollywood. N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS invite specialists in special effects makeup who recreate scars, burns, bruises, and the like, which are essential for films and theaters. The effect looks like nothing other than real and always surprises us.

Professional Training Class 20 days

(N·Y·B·S CREATIVE ARTS Boys & Girls)
While taking one of the artists courses (3-month, 6-month, 12-month), students receive simulation training at a practical level. The content and levels vary depending on the capacities of the students. These classes are aimed at drawing out skills, the sense, knowledge, professional manners, and increases the capacity of individual students who seek their aptitudes while feeling the on-site atmosphere and professional level. Excellent students can get permission to take the training further and a chance to become candidates for N·Y·B·S staff members (formal N·Y·B·S assistant), if they show a real aptitude for becoming professional beauty artists.
